Heather completed her Physiotherapy degree at the University of Toronto. She also earned her Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association with Distinction and is certified by the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. She recently earned her Sport Physiotherapy Certification which created the opportunity to be a physiotherapist at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Heather is an instructor at Capilano University in the Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program, and with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association's post graduate orthopaedic program. She is a passionate mountain biker and has been ranked in the top 5 nationally. Heather was part of the gold medal triathlon team at the World Masters Games 2005 and has competed in the Xterra World Championships in Hawaii. In 2008 she won the BC Cyclocross series. Her next challenge is multi-day mountain bike stage races, with the 2009 Intermontagne Challenge successfully under her belt . With her personal sport experience and clinical skills, Heather will guide you in the prevention of injuries and lead you to success with your rehabilitation program.
Meredith Wilson

Born and raised on the North Shore, Meredith graduated at the top of her class with her Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia in 2009. She also holds a Bachelor in Human Kinetics has experience as a Health and Lifestyle Consultant at the John Braithwaite Community Centre. She is currently pursuing advanced training in manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture and sports physiotherapy. An avid endurance athlete, Meredith competes in long distance triathlons and distance running. In her spare time, when not training, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, kayaking, snowboarding, and reading. Meredith’s treatment approach combines exercise, manual therapy and education to treat and prevent injuries. She welcomes all patients.

Barb is an ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist, has a Kinesiology Certificate in Health and Fitn ess from SFU, is an Advanced Registered Cardiology Technologist and NCCP Level 2 coach in cycling. She has been bike racing for many yea rs. Her results include a World Championship medal at UCI Masters and three gold medal performances at the World Masters Games, two BC Road Race Championships and two Canadian National Championship gold medals. Barb takes a progressive approach to sport, and believes in the importance of building a strong physical multidirectional foundation. Having suffered a major bone break in 2009, she has been involved in extensive rehabilitation to recover her strength and fitness and was able to do a very credible 3 hr 42 minutes in the Vancouver to Whistler Gran Fondo in 2010! “I want to keep people moving; it is my goal to enhance the rehab process with bracing and exercise to enable individuals to perform without discomfort and pain.”
Deanna McMullen
BScPT
Deanna graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy with Honors from Dalhousie University. She has 17 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics and sports medicine, as well as extensive training in manual therapy and exercise prescription. She is certified in acupuncture, a certified pilates instructor and a 'Fit for Golf' affiliate therapist.


Her experience as an athlete allows her to better understand injuries and rehabilitation. She was a varsity basketball player, three time Academic all Canadian. She is now an elite level triathlete and cyclist. Representing Bermuda, she was a multi medalist in International competition and two time International Cycling Union(UCI) Caribbean Region Time Trial Champion. In her first long course triathlon at the 2010 Ironman Canada she qualified for the world championships in Hawaii.
She enjoys sharing her experience and knowledge with clients in helping them reach their goals and return to their sport or activity.
Susan Miller
BASc, MEd, RD - Registered Dietitian
Susan joins Active Life Physio on November 27th and will be available for consultations on Thursdays from 4:30 - 8:30 pm and on Sundays form 1:30 - 4:30 pm. Susan has a wealth of experience and is connected with Sport Med BC. She will work with all clients to meet their nutritional goals.
Susan is a Registered Dietitian and is passionate about helping you stay healthy. She enjoys running, hiking, aerobics, pilates & yoga. As a wife and mother of two active children, she understands the benefits of fueling for peak performance as well as eating healthily to help curb the cravings. She specializes in sports nutrition, weight management and healthy eating for those coping with stress and addictions.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Human Nutrition, a Masters degree in Education, is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of BC and is a member of the Dietitians of Canada. She has taught nutrition at Simon Fraser University and has held leadership roles with the BC Dietitians’ and Nutritionists’ Association, Dietitians of Canada, BC Mental Health and Addiction Services, Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals and the North Shore Keep Well Society. Susan’s services include nutritional assessments and analysis as well as
“Craving Change™” sessions for those with problematic eating. She can also help you negotiate the Supermarket maze, read and understand food labels and provides meal plans specific to your individual nutritional needs.
